Full Review
The BenQ ScreenBar is one of those products that seems unnecessary until you use it — then you wonder how you worked without it. It’s the single best lighting upgrade for any desk setup.
The Problem It Solves
Traditional desk lamps create glare on your screen, take up desk space, and light unevenly. The ScreenBar clips to the top of your monitor and uses an asymmetric optical design to cast light downward onto your desk while keeping your screen completely glare-free. Your keyboard, documents, and desk are illuminated; your screen isn’t washed out.
Light Quality
At CRI 95, the color rendering is excellent — colors look natural and accurate under this light, which matters for design work, video calls, and reducing eye strain. The adjustable color temperature (2700K warm to 6500K cool) lets you match the light to your preference or time of day.
Auto-Dimming
The ambient light sensor automatically adjusts brightness based on your room’s lighting conditions. Walk into a bright room and it dims. Close the blinds and it brightens. It’s a small thing, but it means you almost never need to manually adjust.
Who Should Buy This
Any remote worker who stares at a screen for extended hours. If you get eye fatigue, headaches, or find yourself squinting by late afternoon, this will help more than you expect. The $99 price pays for itself in comfort within the first week.
